This guide helps establish the proper depth for a 1 1/2″ diameter hole and ensures the correct centering of the 5/8″ hole, allowing for proper installation of the secure cover.
Standard Operating Procedure - Drilling Guide & Secure Cover
Installation Process:
- While wearing appropriate PPE, drill a 1 1/2-inch diameter hole into the concrete slab to a depth of approximately 1 3/4 inches. Mark the desired depth on the drill bit with tape for better control.
- Place the Drilling Guide with the conical end down in the hole. The hole is sufficiently deep if the flange of the Drilling Guide lies flush with the slab surface.
- If necessary, deepen the hole (but avoid going more than 2 inches into the slab) to ensure proper engagement of the secure cover's threads with the threads on the Vapor Pin® sampling device.
